My Tarot Card of choice is The High Priestess. My figure is wearing her own papal crown like what most high priestesses wear, with her holding a TORA book and a staff. The staff has a symbol of an owl on the top, a universal symbol of wisdom. This is to allude to The High Priestess meaning is someone who strives for knowledge and wisdom. I drew her as sitting in front of the borders, sitting with her right side to the right, and her head to the side. Finally, I made her hair and dress extremely long, with both splitting in the middle at the bottom of the card. This is to simulate a waterfall because the element associated with The High Priestess is water.
I have aster flowers replacing my rose idea. This is due to the aster representing wisdom, and its natural design resembling a star. There are two columns at the side borders, with them having the letters “B” and “J” in a calligraphic style. This represents Boaz and Jachin, the two pillars from the Temple of Solomon commonly in The High Priestess tarot cards. These pillars are designed with leaf-like patterns and looking like the ancient columns in Greek/Roman architecture. The empty space above the pillars (and behind the flowers) are filled with a detailed pattern to simulate the whole piece being filled with a darker shade.
There is a roman numeral of “2” on the top of the card as The High Priestess is indeed the second Major Arcana in tarot card decks. The crescent moon is represented in the card three times, once in the “2”, another being large and sat on by priestess, and finally one upside-down at the bottom. The negative space at the bottom of the final crescent moon is where “THE HIGH PRIESTESS” in “Phalyn” font.
Finally, my color accent of choice is sky blue, as I believe it truly made her hair resemble water rushing down a waterfall on the card. I colored in the papal crown, eyebrows, lips, and aster flowers blue as I feel it suits the piece.
